It's National Pigs in a Blanket Day. Most versions of this modern classic call for hotdogs, (the pigs,) to be wrapped in cheese and then nestled into a roll or bun (the blanket,) such as a a crescent roll or biscuit and baked until the blankets are cooked and the cheese is melted.
Our easy rendition calls for ham instead of hot dogs, and takes about 10 minutes to assemble and bake. The finished product tastes great right out of the oven. But if you make a few extras you can refrigerate some for a snack or breakfast on the run later in the week. Reheat them if you like, but lots of people enjoy them cold, too.
