Staining Aspen Wood Dark

Staining Aspen Wood Dark

BIRCH. Less expensive than hard maple, birch is often substituted for maple in furniture and kitchen cabinets. Like hard maple, however, it does not absorb stain evenly and should not be stained with dark coloured stains. When staining, first apply a pre-stain wood conditioner, then select stains lighter in colour.
Bark on young trees may be white or greenish white, with dark gray or black welts. While this wood takes paint readily, it blotches when stained unless you first. Across the southern reaches of the nation, aspen lumber may be hard to find.

Woods like cherry, pine and birch can become blotchy and unattractive when stained, unless you use a sealer before staining. Wood staining.
